The Opportunity

The Cytogenetic Technologist will provide technical services and other related responsibilities within the Cytogenetics Lab to include performing cytogenetic techniques, including (but not limited to) analysis of G-banded chromosomes and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) preparations, and performing tissue culture and cell harvest of human pluripotent stem cells.


The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related science and a minimum of one year of laboratory experience.  Experience in the analysis of G-banded chromosome preparations, and interpretation of results using ISCN is required.  Additionally, experience in sterile culture techniques is required.  Preferred experience includes ASCP certification in Cytogenetic Technology and experience in culturing human pluripotent stem cells. In addition, the candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others in a laboratory setting. The ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and demonstrate high degree of accuracy, reliability and responsibility is essential.
