The Research Specialist will provide technical services and other related responsibilities within the WiCell Cytogenetics Lab. This will include performing laboratory techniques, including but not limited to metaphase chromosome preparations, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), PCR, and culture of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) lines and related cell lines.
The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in biology or a related science and a minimum of one year of laboratory experience. Experience in sterile culture techniques is highly preferred. Preferred experience also includes experience in culturing human pluripotent stem cells and G-banded chromosome preparation. In addition, the candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others in a laboratory setting. The ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and demonstrate high degree of accuracy, reliability and responsibility is essential.
