WiCell seeks a full-time Assistant Laboratory Coordinator to join our team! The Assistant Laboratory Coordinator will help with coordination and performance of activities associated with the upkeep of WiCell’s laboratories, stockroom, storage areas and office spaces. This position will work across the organization to ensure that WiCell’s equipment and labs are operating smoothly. This position also serves as the primary contact with other WiCell employees in maintaining inventories of critical materials and assisting with equipment and facility maintenance. This position will work with all levels of the organization to fulfill the WiCell Quality System goals for a safe and productive work environment.
This position assists with the maintenance and improvement of the overall quality of WiCell’s programs. This position maintains the organization’s equipment database, acts as a common point of contact within the organization for stakeholders, maintains industry and supplier contacts in person and via electronic means and coordinates the various programs' resources through material handling, inventory control, and scheduling of facilities and equipment upkeep. This practical, hands-on role will provide a wide range of services that requires managing a regular workload while also being able to respond to requests that are more urgent. This position will require infrequent evening and weekend work. WiCell is located at 504 S. Rosa Road in Research Park on the west side of Madison.
Candidates should have excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with basic laboratory equipment preferred. Enrollment in or completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree in science, occupational safety, engineering or a related field preferred or equivalent experience doing similar work in a laboratory setting.
